Research with Second Grade -- Pocket your Information

Barbara Ellenberger used this idea for animal research with second graders. "I followed the suggestions from Tony's [Tony Stead] presentation last January."

Each group chose an animal to research, wrote their facts on the color coded strips, put them in appropriate pockets in the folder, organized their fact strips as to how they would present information. Each student chose a "chapter" to write and illustrate.

The students really did a superb job on the research! "

Thanks, Barbara, for this idea.
